French comedy legends Louis De Funes and Coluche co-star in L'Aile Ou La Cuisse (aka The Wing Or Thigh?), a 1976 film in which De Funes plays a gourmet food critic who suspects that a fast-food chain is plotting to somehow stamp out good restaurants throughout the country and overseas. On paper this one may not sound like much but the fact that Charles Duchemin (De Funes) is so cunning when it comes to reviewing restaurants that he goes as far as dressing up like little old ladies and carrying around a bunch of test tubes in his pockets to carry samples of food he thinks might not be that fresh makes for some pretty creative and funny moments. There's a subplot in which his son and only heir Gérard (Coluche) secretly wants to be a circus clown and the villain Jacques Tricatel (Julien Guiomar) is an amusingly animated slimeball. After the success of their previous collaborations, Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder reunited in Another You , a comedy from 1991 in which a small-time con man befriends a pathological liar before they both find themselves in the middle of a large-scale con. Their last feature together or apart, Another You is something of a bittersweet creation since it not only flopped at the box-office but Pryor had already been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and you can tell he's not at his healthiest in the film. That said, both he and Wilder make a terrific team once again and look like they're having a good time throughout. The actors' usual dynamic is changed a little here as Gene Wilder plays the wackier role and Pryor is the straight man. We first meet the former in a mental institution as he attempts to shake off his bad habit of constantly lying and not being able to stop. Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken star in Nick Of Time , a thriller from 1995 in which a man's daughter is kidnapped and he is then forced to assassinate a politician. The film was a flop upon its release despite the lead's star power and it remains one of Depp's most forgotten efforts. The central premise is an intriguing one as we follow everyman accountant Gene (Depp) in real time as he attempts to get out of his predicament within the hour and a half time limit he's been assigned to do the job. Throughout the film, Christopher Walken's mysterious villain taunts him and watches his every move and he is genuinely intimidating. Unfortunately, this whole real time concept has been done before and since much better going as far back as Alfred Hitchcock's Rope to more recent examples including the 24 series and Phone Booth . This might explain why Nick Of Time evaporated pretty quickly as it comes off less like a theatrical blockbuster and more like a TV m

So it's Review A Bad Game Day again, that most magical time of year where we gather around and celebrate a bad game worthy of mention. Today, I'll be looking at the SNES version of cartoonish platformer Dennis The Menace which also came out for the Amiga and the Game Boy. Based on the live-action movie from 1993 which itself was an adaptation of the old cartoon series, the game has you take control of the titular troublemaker as he wanders around grumpy neighbour Mr Wilson's home and other locations causing all sorts of mayhem. Incidentally, it looks like Hell has already broken loose in all of those places since poor old Dennis is soon awkwardly manoeuvring around thousands of purple cats, bouncing tea cups, killer fish, giant frogs and mice. Now I'm not sure what Mr Wilson's been up to but it can't be good because his house is like the Halloween version of Pee-Wee's Playhouse . Batman V Superman may not have been the runaway success DC was hoping for but, bad reviews aside, it's looking like Suicide Squad might just be their best bet yet with fans praising the film left and right, defending it defiantly. The promise of a dysfunctional team of villains working for the good guys in a colourful, violent adventure like no other with a brand new Joker and a live-action Harley Quinn thrown in certainly sounded promising and more fun than Zack Snyder's recent output. The good news is that Suicide Squad is like the anti- Man Of Steel : fast, wacky, cartoonish, playful, it constantly aims to entertain and, very often, it does just that. More good news is the cast mostly works with Margot Robbie clearly having a great time with her portrayal of cosplayer favourite Harley Quinn, Will Smith getting all the best lines and Jai Courtney almost stealing the show in a career-best turn as Captain Boomerang.
